OK finally I'm gonna write about my Singapore Free and Easy trip with my mum last week. Need to edit photos as there is a lot of them. Well basically Singapore is a suitable place for free and easy trip as the transportation is very convenient and it is an island, which means it is actually quite small haha.
So basically my schedule in Singapore is as below: ( i went there for 4 days 3 nights)
- 8am: Reach Singapore after 10 hours journey from Butterworth Penang. Ride Konsortium to Bridge Road, Singapore, terminal at Golden Mile Tower. Bus fees: RM65. Then took a taxi to reach to Fragrance Hotel, cost around $5 ( $=singapore dolar)
- 9am: After put our luggage in the hotel, we took a taxi to Suntech Tower 2 for Duck tour. from Novena station to Suntech: $7.50. Duck tour: $33 per person.
- 10am: Duck tour began =)) took around an hour time
- 11am: went for lunch at Food Republic 大时代 before lunch time. **important to avoid the crowd
- 12pm: walked around in the Suntech buildings. find the way to Singapore Flyer
- 1pm: walked to Esplanade MRT station ( the circle line), rode to Promenade station. oh ya, we bought the Ez-link card for $10 ( not enuf at all so we topped up another $10, total $20 for Ez-link, for bus and MRT, very convenient). From the Promenade station, turn left to Exit A and walked to the direction to Singapore Flyer. Crossed the road to reach to the Singapore Flyer.
- 2pm: bought the ticket for Flight Experience, the flight simulator. For more details of my experience to be a pseudo-pilot, plz view : http://celinechenyue92.blogspot.com/2013/06/singapore-flight-experience-you-are.html
- 4pm: went back to hotel after hanging around. So tired. How to go back? from Promenade station, took MRT to interchange Dhoby Ghaut, then rode to Novena station. Cross the road to opposite bus station, took TBS bus no.131 or no.21. reach Fragrance Hotel after 5 stops ( around la)
- 6pm: Dinner at 文冬记 Boon Teong Kee opposite the hotel for dinner.
- 7pm: Going to Bugis street for shopping. How to get there? From bus stop beside Boon Teong Kee, took bus no.131 or no.21 to Novena station, took MRT to City Hall station, interchange at that station to East West Line~ Bugis station. From the Bugis station, walked to Bugis Junction, the Bugis street is at the left.
- 9.30pm: went back to hotel follow the route that we went to Bugis Street. OMG super a lot of ppl @.@ better go back early
The reception counter of the Fragrance Hotel. Good service was provided. We were happy to have a stay here. Since it was just a normal budget hotels so i wont describe much on it.
Interior view of the hotels. very clean although it is small. but spacious enuf for 2 person. There are several restaurants around the hotels such as Boon Teong Kee, XO crab meat bee hoon, mutton steamboat shop and the 7-11 is just next to the hotel.
the Hippo City Sight Seeing bus. Suitable if u r lazy to walk around.
The ticket of the Duck Tour, $33 each. well the counter is located in Sun Tech Complex, opposite the body shop and starbucks. there is a tour every each hour, and we need to be there 15 mins before the departure. I guess u know what is meant by DUCK TOUR??
The attractions during the Duck tour, ya we were travelling on the Singapore River! from the left top to the right bottom: helix bridge, Singapore Flyer, Singapore Floating Stadium and the "Durian" Singapore Esplanade. Basically the duck Tour focus on the Marina Bay. well something i dislike about the tour guide during the trip as she always emphasize on how much money had been invested to build this build that, this is the largest that is the most grand bla bla. @.@
From the top left to bottom right: Singapore Merlion Park, The skyscrapers along Marina Bay, the Marina Bay Sands and the "Lotus" Art Science Museum.
from the left top to right bottom: The super tree in Garden by the bay, the flower and cloud dome in Garden by the bay, the largest dome in Singapore ( stadium, still under construction) and the left bottom one is the F1 runway in Singapore on the land. See those white colour? they are the spot light. c la ppl so advance adi, got such a nice infrastructure until they can have a F1 car racing on the normal road. the legal one summore.
continue our journey on the land, the left top one is the padang haha, the left bottom is the "chopstick" world war 2 memorial park, and the right one is the Suntec City Mall with the Fountain of Wealth ( under renovation so it is not open to public)
So here end our Duck Tour, took a picture with the duck duck hehe
After that, we went down to the Food Republic in Suntec. for me it is a very clean and beautiful hawker center, cant expect that a hawker center can look like that too!!
i thought it was a restaurant in my first impression. I love the design, the mood and the atmosphere is very good for eating haha.
There are varies of food too, got indian food, yong to fu, tea rice, italian food, economic rice etc with reasonable price ( of coz la don convert it into RM, then it sounds very expensive)
Our lunch. Mine one is the 古早味鱼丸面 (fishball noodle, $4) while my mom had japanese bento ( $5.50) We had our lunch first before 12pm as it is the lunch time for the workers in Suntec city buildings. super crowded and u will no place to sit at all XD
Another view of the corner of the Food Republic
So after our lunch, we had a walk around the shopping mall before we went to the Singapore Flyer. We booked the Flying Experience session at 2pm, so we just hang around and took pictures.
the food trail section in the Singapore Flyer, the decorations were really surprising! it showed the lifestyle of our ancestors in the 1900s and all the things that they used before.
after the flying experience we straight away went back to hotel and had a good rest and bath. yoohooo syok ah. To surf the internet in the room, we got our username and password for free from the counter in the Fragrance Hotel reception. Forgot to mention we stayed in Fragrance Hotel Classic, Balestier Road.
We went to Boon Teong Kee opposite the hotel to have our dinner. We ordered for chicken rice 海南鸡饭(famous in Singapore) and tofu. It costed us $10 for a plate of chicken, $6 for deep fried bean curd and $0.50 for plain rice. total we spent around $23 in that restaurant ( include tax, drinks and some miscellaneous) erm, the chicken rice is nice and the toufu is awesome, but the chickens a bit..... cold X..X
After the dinner we went to Bugis street for shopping. Don mistaken the Bugis Junction as Bugis street. the Bugis Street is actually outside the shopping mall. For me, the clothes in the Bugis Street were nice and pretty, but the quality was somehow not very satisfactory. It looks like Sungai Wang for me.
My selca in the Bugis Junction. 南洋风味haha
So, my Day 1 in Singapore ended after we went back to the hotel from Bugis Street. We also bought some bread for breakfast and slept earlier that night as we were going for cycling on the next day. Super Fun!! haha. Nice day and I really love it
