here we are, finally v made our holiday plan to Penang succesfully, actually v planned it since last sem hehe. There are 7 of us joined the trip, me n khai sien as the host (penang lang wat), n the guests r yen, qiao mei, soo ling, huey ming n a joyce. obviously tis is a house trip la haha. v planned the trip for 3 days 2 nights in penang , one day in penang n another day stay in my house.
Day 1: v took a train to penang from KL central at 11pm, bought the tickets as early as possible, the bed costs u around RM40 for the upper bed while RM46 for lower bed. well, we departed from upm as early as 9.45pm. the train is very cold, so for those who wish to take train to penang plz remember to bring ur jacket along ya. the terminal station is at Butterworth jetty ( my hometown hehe). We reach Butterworth around 7am, then v took a bus 604 rapid penang to bagan ajam pasar to have our breakfast, yoohoo penang delicacies are awesome!!
Day 2: well i consider it as day 2 in penang, actually the same day v reach Butterworth. after a nice rest n nice meal, v start our journey^^
oh ya, forgot to introduce, the Red garden onli start their operation at 6pm, so v went to a shop opposite the Red Garden to buy some local delicacies such as tambun biscuits, durian kuih n durian coffee(very nice n it taste awesome!!). if got chance u should visit to the Red Garden, if not New World Park near KOMTAR is recommended, both of tis two places have awesome Penang food waiting for u!!
After the wall painting, v prepared to check in to our hotel. well i book Moontree 47 at Lebuh Muntri, but due to some reason v cant stay in tat hotel >< so v changed our accommodation into Star Lodge which is just beside the Moontree 47 hotel. not bad actually, the tauke is very friendly n the hotel is very clean n tidy. v paid RM150 for 7 persons, v 2 air-conditioned rooms v individual toilet. worth for it.
another wall painting in love lane ^^ well it was modified a couple weeks ago, making it more attractive than original hehe.
well our luck wasn't so smooth tat day, coz v met v the rain God TT. since v did not take our meal yet v just walked to restaurant in the opposite road looking for food, well the nam heng restaurant in chulia street served an awesome wan tan mee ^^ n cost us around RM3.50 only if I'm not wrong. along the street there is a famous heritage hotel: banana boutique, huhu actually v plan to stay a night there but it was our budget. hehe, v r poor ==
accidentally saw tis art while v were walking back to love lane, along the Lorong Stewan. After a delicious meal v were heading to our next destination: the Baba Nyonya Mansion
Another cute iron work art street v found along Lebuh Pitt, hehe one of our extra-discovery in Penang. my housemates love to pose a lot XDD
We were told that actually the Nyonya house was marked wrongly by the google maps, luckily we met a very helpful uncle, whose wife is working in the house to give us the correct direction =)) thank you
it is actually located in a vertical street than a horizontal street, opposite a very big cafe. Nyonya mansion is a green colour building, n there is a very big nyonya poster outside the house.
After v paid the ticket fees, v were guided by a friendly Nyonya with a warm welcome. She explained to us about the life of nyonya baba and their tradition. Really impressed with the interior design in the house and all the accessories. We also grabbed a chance to have a look at the 3-inches shoes wore by the old nyonya, due to a ugly tradition in Chinese.
The nyonya also teach us about the mahjong paper played by her n her friends during their leisure time, in chinese v called it as a “闺阁游戏”。very unique games that we learned tat day. V love the nyonya becoz she allowed us to take pictures in the mansion, so nice!!
beautiful vase n golden leaves on the table in the mansion, located in the 偏厅 beside the counter. inside here have a mahjong table n the nyonya taught us about the culture of nyonya baba.
We took picture together with Nyonya ^^ she is very pretty in her nyonya dress
another pictures in the upper floor of the mansion. tis is also one of the shooting place for singapore drama 小娘惹, where all the tuk panjang scene was shooted at here. the pictures they hang is their ancestors.
me with the beautiful art work behind ^^ hardly seen tis kind of art skills in the society nowadays adi.
雕龙刻凤之作品
pattern time ^^ haha, actually v were looking at the bride downstairs, there was a photo shooting sessions tat time. since tis place is very romantic n special wat.
last photo v Nyonya at the 正厅 of the mansion before we left tis beautiful place. wonderful memory!!
we moved on to our next wall painting the 追风小子 in Lebuh Ah Quee. one of the most popular hotspot in penang. pattern pattern time again hehe
**tis wall painting was sabotage by someone irresponsible n low moral value last week with barbecue charcoal. angry with tis behavior
our cute sin yen with the wall painting 姐弟 located in lebuh armenian. the most most most famous wall painting in penang because of the innocent look showed by the children. we have to queue up to take the photo, imagine how hot it is!!
**again sabotage by a bian tai (变态)last week.
Again another impressive art street along lebuh Armenian, just walk straight down to the street lo. cute khaisien, u can really hold the tiger or not?? XD
Beside the iron work there is another wall painting named 沉思的老人, but dunno y it really fades alot recently. not very famous, but still meaningful to penang =))
my street look at lebuh cannon, all the buildings behind me are the 战前古屋,aged more than 100 years old adi. built before the 2nd world war in Penang. N they are the main attractions in penang heritage zone.
took pictures with another wall painting in Lebuh Cannon, haha cute right. very obvious along the street. don miss it out!! N it is our last station for wall painting tour too, completed our tour in 2 hours time ( not included a visit to Nyonya house)
**suggestion: if u wish to visit the real heritage in penang, u may stay in lebuh muntri or lebuh chulia, so it will be easier for the visit hehe

Penang mural street art walk 2013
After the visit, we walked to jetty again to take bus to Padang Kota Lama. We took CAT bus there, a free shuttle bus service provided by penang government. Tis picture was taken in front of the city hall, 市政厅. Penang city hall is a British style building as Penang is one of the Negeri-negeri selat. Beside the city hall is the Dewan Sri Penang, all the important performance and competitions are held here.
another funny pose on the field =) in padang kota lama, as we missed out the chance to visit Fort Corwanllis, we reached there almost at 6.45pm TT
Then we took a taxi to New Gurney, enjoyed our dinner at Gurney Drive Food Court, erm quite expensive one for me, but compare to KL, wow the food are much delicious n cheaper!!! hiak hiak hiak. We also went for a short shopping in Gurney Plaza. went back to our lodge at 10.30pm. We had to cancel our supper plan at Red Garden because everyone were exhausted
Forgot to post tis wall painting photo-功夫女孩, at Lebuh Muntri, on the wall to Moon Tree 47. dunno y for me i feel very uncomfortable v it.... my problem?? 0.o
Having our breakfast at Western Oriental Cafe, within a walking distance from the lodge. I ordered a bacon omelette and soya milk, the price is reasonable and i love the environment there. not much decoration but comfortable, a very relaxing breakfast v had there. the tauke is very friendly, and he spoke a very fluent english, wow i wish i can do it too ><
After our breakfast then we moved on to our first destination of the day, Penang Hill!! actually we can take bus there, but becoz of laziness we choose to take taxi, and it costed us around RM25 per cab TT next time i swear i will take bus which will cost RM2.70 per pax only.
We reach Penang Hill quite early around 9.30am, thanks god not much crowd there yet. We had to show our Malaysia Identity Card and UPM student card at the counter, then pay for RM4 per pax hehe. Foreigners have to pay around RM30++ but for them tis is really a small amount la. especially after i visited to Australia.
