Penang Tropical Spice Garden

Penang really got a lot of attractions tis few years, from the murals which is the hit,  ESCAPE Theme Park, Penang Camera Musuem, Penang Butterfly Farm, Penang Tropical Spice Garden, Penang Tropical Fruit Garden and the latest one, Penang Wet Wild Water Park which was introduced today by our CM. I felt so delighted with the latest project for the wet wild water park which is on the sea!! ya, on the open sea, totally different feeling huh!

So last Monday, I brought my fren Patricia from Sabah back to Penang for Hari Raya, and we went to Tropical Spice Garden during our trip in Teluk Bahang and Batu Ferringhi together with my mom. This was my first visit to Tropical Spice Garden, and you know that I love nature so much. Too bad the maintenance was unsatisfactory becoz they closed down the Jungle Trail that time and most of the herbs or plants were not under a good care. Can see some wild grass growing around which spoilt the view especially the Bamboo Garden. The closing down of several trails made me feel like the admission fees was not worth for it. Hope that they can maintain their reputation well in future. But overall, the trip was fun!

We went there around 12.30pm after the visit to Penang Butterfly Farm. I was so silly that time becoz i left my student card in the wrong bag. Damn! So me and mummy paid RM 15 for the self guided tour ( RM25 for the guided tour) while Pat paid it with RM10 for the student price. ( RM25 for adult guided tour, RM16 for student guided tour, we did not take it becoz we knew tat even they told us apa ni apa tu we cant remember it haha). Honestly I had no idea at all about spice and herbs ( X..x i seldom cook). Before we entered, the workers spray some mosquitoes repellent on our palms so we can apply it on our arms and legs.
The first scene = water garden in the tropical spice garden with the biggest leaf in the world in the pond! Dont forget to get the map at the entrance.

me with another giant leaf in the garden. bigger than my body lol!!

me and Pat on the giant swing. Precaution: sit properly on the swing and don ever never try to swing beyond the safety net haha. maximum 4 ppl on the swing at one time =))

A better view of the swing, love this photo so much. Is my photographing skill improving?? i hope so haha.

me and pat along the way up to the restaurant. We were following the ornamental trail tat time. the full length of this trail will take 20-25 minutes.

had a leisure time at the Tree Monkey Restaurant. I super duper love this restaurant!! It was so relaxing with the smooth music, the lovely sunshine with the trees, and awesome seaview of Batu Ferringhi from the hill! I don wish to move my ass away that time haha.

Spectacular sea view from our table~ The lovely bluesky and the lovely blue sea.

Tree Monkey is a Thai Restaurant. and the decoration of the restaurant was really lovely to me. It is also an ideal place to have a wedding party here~ I even suggest my fren to propose to his gf here in future ( if he got one la XD)

The decoration on the table~

Menu of the restaurant. Hmm the food here was a bit pricey for me, so we just ordered for some beverages instead of snacks. Spice and herbs are the focus of the menu in this restaurant.

The table view of the restaurant~

view of the counter~

Our drinks!! Since we ordered for mixed fruit Mocktails, they put the fruits which resembles the mocktails so we can easily recognise which one is ours d haha. ( tis phrase sounds so weird @.@) All mocktails cost RM14.80. Highly recommended to have a try here coz they add some herbs and spice into it! hehe

Mummy with her Virgin Monkey ( Pineapple, Lime juice, soda & basil leaves). she said hers one very sour. I dunno coz i did not taste it haha.

Patricia with her Monkey Juice ( Mango, Banana, Pineapple, Orange and Basil leaves). She wanted to try for Sabai Tomyum at first but gave up then coz she saw CHILI in the ingredient haha. Pat said hers one tasted good becoz of banana and orange =))

My Apple Spritzer. ( apple juice, lime juice and soda) well mine one was the benign one, coz i don feel well that day so i don dare to try for the pineapple. Mine one tasted nice and I like it =))

After enough rest, we continued our journey again. We just walked around by referring to the map.

Me and my mummy =))

Some herbs/spice? i cant differentiate @.@ but my mom did. She knew which herbs is good for reducing blood pressure and which one is good for stop bleeding. Looks like it is time for me to study adi. If you wish to know more about spice and herbs, a guided tour is strongly recommended.

Me at the slides and ladders. Attracted by the colourful platform and the red bark tree trunk behind me =)

The tea kiosk in the bamboo garden with 2 small waterfall. I thought they were the big one when i referred to the map. =..=

The black pepper

beautiful plant with unknown name hehe
