墨尔本日记4~ Melbourne Star Observation Wheel

So, this is the first Friday we had in Melbourne, and we decided to have another night tour together. Oh yeah, the night before we went for a night tour in Southbank Yarra River. After the landscape night view, this time we gonna have a aerial night view. And trust me, although it is quite pricey, it is totally worth it!!

here is a peek of view of the night view from the observation wheel~ we cant stop ourselves from taking picture because it is just too spectacular. we never had this view in Malaysia

So what is Melbourne Star Observation Wheel?
it is one of the 3 giant observation wheels in the world, after the London Eye and Singapore Flyer, with the fully enclosed air-conditioned cabin, and it is about 40 storey building high, 120m. Still, not as high as LE and SF. It turns on a single bearing at its centre. It is colourful at night isnt it? becoz it boasts 15 million different LED lighting combination on it! ( information from the brochure)

It can accommodate up to 420 passengers in its 21 cabins, each turn takes abouut 30 minutes ride. Thought it will be quite a long ride but we had not enough time on the wheel, for serious.

and yeah, I bring HIM along with me~ so I can feel that he is with me all the time ( in fact, he got jealous Xp)

so yeah, we are ready to go! it is freezing cold that night at about 10 degree celcius only.

and we get our tickets over the ticket counter at AUD 27.20 after 20% discount from the original price of AUD 34. We use the discount voucher from the Melbourne Visitor Guidebook, must grab this book as a visitor to enjoy all kind of discounts!

since the night wasnt that crowded, we did not have to wait long for the queue. We just board on a cabin, and enjoy every single moment among us to the maximum. The night view is just too beautiful and everyone of us get drunken into it. So let's see how is the view looks like, and the reason behind I stated that the price is worth for the visit.
with the bridge behind~ everything is beautifully decorated with light
dont ask me about which landmark is that, Im not local and I have no idea with it haha

my frens~

we are so excited to have the view!

this is one of the reason for me to fall in love deeply with Melbourne
Till now, I could not believe that I am actually here, after a year of hardwork and preparation, finally, and everything is worth for it

the city looks like twinkle star in the dark

when the cabin reach its highest point, this is how it looks like.
for those who are feared of height, don try it out Xp

the bridge in red colour

the cabin looks so romantic in purple. How I wish He was here with me enjoying this view!!

as the cabin is descending, and we get ready to get off from the cabin. What a night! we had a lot of fun in the cabin, dancing, non stop photo shooting and more~

bye bye Melbourne star~ and bye to Dockland, but we will visit you soon again for the winter festival for the fireworks hehe. Now, it is time to treat our tummy with the yummy SOFIA!
Good night and good day!
